Awana

Awana is an international children’s program that we offer as a mid-week children’s club. Kids from SK to Grade 8 enjoy the excitement, fellowship, and spiritual enrichment of Awana each week.

For decades, Awana has been facilitating quality, Bible-based children’s programs for churches across North America and throughout the globe. Children learn to love, obey, and know God’s Word, the Bible. They also enjoy challenging games and can win prizes and awards. Clubbers enjoy theme nights such as crazy hair night, or dress like your favourite bible character night and store nights where they can spend hard-earned ‘Awana Bucks’!

Awana provides opportunities to achieve in areas that count for eternity. Awana is an acronym derived from (2 Timothy 2:15) that means:

“Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed.”

Awana Clubs in Barrie has been running for 35 years and has an average of 25-30 children per week attend. Attendance consists of children from our own church, area churches, and the local community in general. Games Time, Handbook Time and Large Group Time.  Games time is designed to encourage teamwork and sportsmanship and promote participation. Handbook Time helps children understand and memorize key Bible verses that instruct them on how to know and follow God. Trained leaders work with children to complete assignments from the AWANA curriculum.  Large Group Time is when Northside Awana Clubbers get together as a large group, enjoying a weekly lesson, singing and Award presentations.
